What exactly is jamocracy?
Jamocracy (the name is a pun for Jam and Democracy) is exactly that: A democratic voting system for parties. Users can (either logged in with their own Spotify account or anonymously) add tracks and vote on them.
The application will take care that the highest voted song is played next. Also, the currently playing track can be vote-skipped if the biggest part of the crowd doesn't think it fits the party's vibe. The party owner can adjust various settings, allowing for a very much personalized experience.
Do I need a Spotify-Premium account to use jamocracy?
Yes! At least the party-host needs a Spotify-Premium account. The guests, on the other hand, do not need a Spotify-Premium account to request songs.
Does jamocracy work with Spotify-Connect devices?
Yes! But unfortunately, there are Spotify Connect-enabled devices that do not allow third-party use as a source. These include devices from Sonos, for example.
